Last night was the Raw Artist event at The Roxy. It was an incredible night with the most inspiring energy mingling in the air. The venue was packed with quirky stands with handmade treasure, artworks, photographs, accessories, shoes and of course apparel.

Sandra's collection looked great (as per usual) and all the models were so lovely (as usual, again). We had  cute stall at the front with her true beauty collection and locksmith collection with clipboard ready to tack orders and then a nice table full of her original accessory pieces (Credit goes to the hopeless intern for making everything look aesthetically pleasing!)

The Sandra Motallebi Designs Team.

Half way through the night, the two interns, the photographer and a handful of models snuck into the theatre to take some "high fashion" photos and surprisingly became a lot of help there as I directed quite a few of the photos.

Overall it was a great night, and just being in an environment where there are so many creative works in so many fields was incredible. Hopefully.....maybe...... in the near future, I'll be featured at the Raw Artist festival too.

dream big, sista!

Two posts in one day - am i insane in the membrane? (insane in the brain)
Well, listening to Tegan and Sara before made me feel nostalgic and remember that time i won free tickets to their sydney side show at the opera house. I was driving up to Maitlands the following day to see them at Groovin' the Moo but when I got a Direct Message saying I've won free tickets to their show, I couldn't turn it down (like, every normal person.)

(this image wasn't even zoomed!)

It was great. Surprisingly, I got great seats. None of the nosebleed section seats. T+S were so adorably awkward and quirky. It was actually a great night, and their performance did not disappoint.

Anyways, on the topic of T+S here are my three favourite albums by them - in order. Under Feet Like Ours; If It Was You and So Jealous. (surprised that The Con is not in my top 3?)
5 Favourite Tracks:
- More for me
- Divided
- Clever Meals
Come on
Proud
5 Favourite Tracks:
- Don't Confess

5 Favourite Tracks:

- call it off? Ange.

Greetings!

This weekend is the RAW: natural born artists ELEVATION  event at Roxy Hotel which will be showcasing Sandra Motallebi's Locksmith collection  and I will be there, being the intern at work - so purchase tickets and come say hi! It is not only a night of fashion but a night of talented artists in different fields such as photography, painting, make up and music showcasing their talent.

p.s. I am currently typing up this blogpost listening to Tegan and Sara's The Con album on repeat (#nowplaying call it off) and anticipating a reply from the dude selling his fujifilm camera on gum tree. This is seriously what I do after work when I'm too tired to do anything productive, but not tired enough to slumber.

so apparently, the cafe I work at (if you already don't know, it's Reuben Hills) is a celebrity hot spot? Ok. Maybe "celebrity" is an overstatement, but a few people in the public eye seem to stop by quite often to enjoy our coffee.

I mean, today I served Laura Marling (she ordered an espresso for anyone interested) and 'Community Channel' Natalie Tran. I'm not the hugest fan of them so gladly, I didn't embarrass myself asking for a photo or an autograph or anything.

Apart from that, The Naked and Famous' new single (finally!) was released so that was a great start to this morning and after work, I went to a "pre-album release, listening party" at The Cricketers Arms for an australian band called Pond - that was fun.

Anyways, that's my not so interesting 24/July.

Tuesday 23 July 2013

Lately I’ve been working a lot. and by a lot, I mean, I’ve only had 2 days to myself in the last 2 weeks - luckily for my manager, I don’t mind working TOO much, especially when I get free staff meal and complimentary coffee whenever I please.

Although, I’ll be honest with you, ‘6:30am me’ aren’t my finest moments and for those cold, dark 6:30am mornings, as I make my way from central station to 61 Albion St Surry Hills, The Fixators’ Wide Awake EP has kept me company and has worked as a pick me up, better than a strong skim flat white.
They’re a lovely group of sydney boys, creating original indie rock tunes. I had the pleasure to meet them a few weeks back at a small gig and their live performance was incredible - it was exactly that. performed live. So definitely check them out and download their EP for free.
P.S. For any existing Fixator fans out there, I will be having a cheeky interview with the boys or maybe just Tim (nothing’s been really decided) about their music and fashion - so stay tuned for that!

Greetings and salutations. (Are you a heather?)

As much as I'd like to be JD from the movie heathers I am not presenting myself on blogger to be that psychopath who lusts over the quirky outcast of the popular group and then try to blow up the whole school - Bonnie and Clyde style.

No. This is merely a "lifestyle" blog - me just rambling about my life as an 18 year old sydney-sider as well as the intern for Sandra Motallebi.

I'll be uploading various blog posts, ranging from fashion inspirations, inspirational women, my adventures, music, film, monthly favourites and more - but if you think this blog is missing something, be sure to hit me up with an email.

blog ya later,
